MECHANICAL ENGINEER
Location: Boulder, COÂ

Job Description:
​
Kronus Engineering is looking for a mechanical engineer to assist with full-life cycle support of large-format battery systems. Energy storage systems on-the-job training will be available. Position responsibilities may include but are not limited to:
Supporting Kronus Engineering system development, production, testing, and support
Engaging with customers to confirm requirements for, define, and quote projects
Designing electrical and mechanical systems to meet customer needs and ensure Kronus quality and safety standards
Engaging with engineering team to perform design reviews
Assembling mechanical systems and interfacing high-voltage electrical components
Programming and/or modifying system controllers
Performing testing and validation of energy storage systems
Documenting design, testing, and standard operating procedures
Troubleshooting electrical and mechanical concerns
Sourcing appropriate components and engaging with vendors
Executing research on relevant matters
Creating internal as well as external reports as appropriate

Requirements/Qualifications:
​
Degree in mechanical/electrical engineering
Proficiency with 3D solid modeling and 2D drawings of complex assemblies, Solidworks preferred
Understanding of basic design principles such as design for manufacturing, design for assembly
Proficiency with mechanical and electrical assembly utilizing hand tools
Ability to work as a member of a larger team as well as autonomously with minimal supervision
Troubleshooting/Problem solving skills
Verbal and written communication skills
Ability to lift 45+ lbs

Job Description:

Kronus Engineering is looking for a software developer and/or automation engineer to assist with the design and programming of interface solutions and energy management systems. Energy storage systems on-the-job training will be available. Position responsibilities may include:
Supporting and organizing Kronus Engineering software development
Designing software and applications related to battery systems, inverters, controllers, and battery management systems
Programming system, product, and enterprise level software
Developing solutions on a variety of platforms including PLCs, microcontrollers, PCs, and mobile devices
Performing testing and validation of software
Identifying, troubleshooting, and documenting software related issues
Executing research on relevant matters
Creating internal and external reports as appropriate
Development effort scoping and scheduling estimates
Supporting hands-on fabrication, assembly, and testing
Requirements/Qualifications:
​
Ideal candidates will have experience programming in Python, Java, C, C#, C++, SQL, and/or HTML as well as PLC-based IEC 61131-3 structured text and function block formats.
PLC and microcontroller programming (function block, structured text, ladder logic)
API/driver development for custom hardware
Networking architecture, engineering, security, and administration
Setting up and managing servers & databases
Front-End design (graphical user interfaces, customer webpage portals, human-machine interfaces)
