Kronus Engineering was approached by a sustainable luxury hotel situated in Costa Rica to scope, design, and manufacture a battery storage system to provide backup energy storage for the site. Kronus customized its DOLOMITE 70kWh system to meet 100% off-grid hotel's requirements.

Provide backup energy storage services to an off-grid luxury hotel in Costa Rica. Property loads supported by the battery system will include site water pump, restaurant kitchen, lighting, & electronics.
The battery system must be able to connect to onsite solar and a diesel generator.
20ft weatherized ISO container.
Safety
The batteries are UL1973 & UL9540A certified, and the inverters are UL1741-SA certified.
Approach
Kronus examined the expected usage profile of the battery system to identify desired system capabilities, safety requirements, and physical constraints.

Results
Kronus successfully customized, built, and tested its DOLOMITE 70kWh system. Kronus provided an empty rack to enable the future expansion of the system to 140kWh.
