LIGHTHOUSE LOFTS
Project: Customize and install a lithium-ion battery system to provide backup energy storage to a large residential apartment building.
Location: Denver, CO
Application: The system provides backup power to the elevator, unit plug loads, and lighting in case of a power outage.
Summary: Urban Green Development (UGD) is a real estate developer and property management company with a focus on sustainability and building efficiency. One of its newest developments includes the construction of a mixed-use apartment building with retail/commercial space and 46 sustainable apartment units. UGD decided to use a battery storage system instead of a diesel generator to provide backup power to the building. Kronus Engineering helped UGD by customizing and installing a DOLOMITE 70 battery system into the building.
